Twilight - no men allowed

We had a girls night out and went and saw "THE" movie. My two daughters, my sister and my daughter-in-law, went with me, and we saw "TWILIGHT." Guess what? I loved it. Sure, it's hard not to laugh at some of the effects (running, jumping, etc...) but I decided before I went that I was just going to go and be entertained and not expect too much. It worked. I really enjoyed it. Edward grew on me. Bella and Edward had great chemistry. The scenery is amazing. One thing . . . I miss vampire teeth. I really do. I wanted them to have the teeth. I guess I'm old school vampire. Carlisle's hair is a whole other discussion.

Because I've been recovering from surgery on my foot (rather difficult to elevate it in a theatre) I haven't seen Twilight yet. I've heard good and not-so-good comments, but as soon as I no longer have to elevate the foot, I'm going to see it.

I went with my daughter and we had a great time! Yeah, Carslile hair...and face...left me...speechless?!! I know they're supposed to be pale, but c'mon! Anyhoo...powder-face aside, it was a fun time. Edward was great! Bella was believable. Good times all around!!!

Robert Pattinton! What more is there to say? Hot! Hot! HOT! Even though I'm old enough to be his mother, I'm not blind! Talk about burning up the screen with those amber eyes and those perfectly chiseled cheekbones. I agree the kabuki makeup was a little over the top. It's hard do believe that with the sophistication of Hollywood today, they don't have something more effective. I actually liked the movie better than the book because sometimes the details in the book are too much and it gets a little boring in places. BUT, seeing Edward step out of his silver Volvo in his gray pea coat, wearing Ray Bands made it all worth it! Smouldering! Smoking HOT!

I LOVED it! I'm just so glad they stuck pretty close to the book. I can't wait for the next one.

I enjoyed the movie, but the makeup was a little much. I hope they do better for the next one!

I just walked in the door from seeing it the 2nd time! (I checked two of my kids out of school and we went without the crowds this time--bad mother! Or cool mother?? LOL). The first time I saw it, I enjoyed it a lot except for the fact that we saw it with a theatre full of giggly, googly pre-teenie girlies and a few smart-alec, comment invoking, moment ruining boys. It was kinda cute hearing the girls throughout the whole movie at first, but on the other hand it also sort of ruined it for my 17 y/o dd and I. My 15 y/o son enjoyed it a lot, though--he hadn't read the book. My 13 y/o loved it--also hadn't read the books. Today though, there was just me, my 13 y/o girl and 10 y/o son and an older couple in the theatre and it was AWESOME!!! No distractions, no loud comments, just plain, hot "Edward"!! (And James was a pretty hot bad boy, I have to say... and at my age, I even thought Bella's dad was kinda cute.) :D It didn't seem cheesy at all this time, and I would give it even more smoldering reviews the 2nd time around!! Excellent job, Stephenie dahling! (And I *think* I saw you in there at the cafe, right??) LOVED IT!!! Great entertainment.

Hi Michele - I thought it was pretty good. There were parts I really enjoyed and others I was sad to see missing. I actually just blogged about it today if you want to stop by and read more specifics. :) I'm glad you had a great time with your daughters!
